Dancing Down Orange Street’ and The Kingstonians ‘Sufferer’ Albums Out Now On CD
On Friday 13th September our partners at Doctor Bird released 2 comprising expanded editions of two classic Trojan boss reggae albums.
Availbale from all good CD retailers, each of the CDs feature the original LPs in their entirety, plus an abundance of relevant bonus tracks, also drawn from Trojan’s legendary catalogue.

THE KINGSTONIANS – SINGER MAN (DOCTOR BIRD CD, DBCD-003)
During the late 1960s and early 1970s, the Kingstonians peppered Jamaica’s singles charts on a regular basis, with their recordings for producer Derrick Harriott proving particularly successful.
Their popularity prompted the producer to release what proved to be the vocal trio’s only album, ‘Sufferer’, which collected a dozen of their best-known works from the preceding two years.
One of the most sought-after boss reggae LPs ever to see issue, the album finally receives the respect it has long since been due, with the original 12 tracks bolstered by an equal number of bonus recordings; the result being the first definitive anthology of the Kingstonians’ works for Harriott’s widely revered Crystal Records.
Featuring a number of tracks new to CD and 8 highly sought-after instrumental versions, ‘Singer Man’ is a must for all serious fans of vintage Jamaican sounds.

VARIOUS – DANCING DOWN ORANGE STREET (DOCTOR BIRD CD, DBCD-004)
Originally released by Trojan Records early in 1969, ‘Dancing Down Orange Street’ is today widely regarded as one of the finest and most sought after albums from the classic ‘boss reggae’ era.
The LP, showcasing a dozen of the most popular late rock steady and early reggae productions of leading Jamaican producer, Sonia Pottinger, is presented here in its entirety for the first time on CD, with the original selection bolstered by a further 13 bonus tracks from the period.
Included are numerous Jamaican hits performed by many of Jamaica’s finest vocal talent from the era, with many making their long overdue CD debut.
