John Holt: Trojan Artist Of The Week

To mark the vinyl reissue of John Holt‘s seminal album, ‘1000 Volts Of Holt’, the singer-songwriter is this week’s Trojan Artist Of The Week.

A true giant of the Jamaican music industry, Holt was rarely out of the island’s charts from the mid-sixties through to the late seventies, initially as a member of the Paragons and subsequently as a solo artist. In the 1980s he impressed a new generation of reggae fans with a series of major dancehall hits, while his live performances ensured he remained popular up until his untimely passing in 2014.
